Sri Lankan former Wicket-keeper Batsman Kumar Sangakkara said, “Pakistan is a safe country for Cricket, security is a worldwide concern, not just in Pakistan.
He is also a president of Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) and Caption of the team which came today in Pakistan to play.
Addressing a press conference with Chief Executive of PCB Waseem Khan, he said, “MCC came after 48 years to play cricket matches in Pakistan.”
“The more times the International Teams toured, the stronger that message goes in the world,” Sangakkara said.
“I have beautiful memories in Pakistan of playing cricket, especially in Lahore,” he added.
He also described the importance of International matches on home grounds.
The English Club Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), one of the world’s most renowned club cricket team, arrived in Pakistan after 48 years.
MCC will play a 50-over match with Pakistan Shaheens and T20 match against Pakistan National T20 champion Northern.
Furthermore, MCC will also play 2– T20 matches against Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans.
MCC will play 1st T20 match of the tour against Lahore Qalandars on 14th February in Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.
