Peshawar Zalmi and West Indies champions captain Darren Sammy says Pakistan is home to him and he is desperate to play in front of Pakistani fans.
Talking to media in Karachi, Darren Sammy said, “Pakistan is always nice to come to, it is like my second home and you can see that I am the first who came to Pakistan.”
He said: “The Pakistan Super League is fully organized in Pakistan. I am excited and desperate to play in front of Pakistani fans.”
In reply to a question, he said, “My whole life has been spent playing cricket, people are happy to see their stars playing. For many years in Pakistan, fans were anxious to see the stars playing in front of them. The return of cricket means a lot to everyone.”
“I have been practising a lot in batting for PSL but we do not believe in individual performances in Peshawar Zalmi team, we play as a team,” he said.
“I played in all the leagues in the world, everyone has a different standard, I try to deliver 100% whenever I play in a league,” said Darren Sammy.
It should be noted that Darren Sammy arrived in Pakistan yesterday to participate in the Pakistan Super League 2020 (PSL 2020).
Pakistan Super League 2020 starts on February 20 and defending champions Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United will compete in the inaugural match.
