The National Assembly meeting revealed that the expenses incurred during foreign tours of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in 2019 have increased by Rs 5.6 million compared to 2018.
Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Dr Fahmida Mirza told the House that the expenditure on travelling to the Pakistan Cricket Board has increased by Rs 56 lakhs during 2019 compared to 2018.
She added that the increase was due to the efforts made since August 2018 under which steps are being taken to bring cricket back to Pakistan.
According to Fahmida Mirza: “The expenditure has increased due to the travel expenses of PCB officials visiting in other countries.”
Dr Fahmida Mirza informed the House that although the PCB is a federal government institute, yet it does not receive any of the government or the public tax amount.
“The PCB manages the money for its own expenditure and uses the same money to promote cricket in Pakistan. The money received by the PCB does not fall into the category of ‘public resources’ or public money”, She added.
