Karachi: A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-735 while leaving for Jeddah made an emergency landing at Jinnah International Airport after a bird hit it.
PIA officials said, the ‘nose cone’ of the plane was damaged after being hit by a bird near Karachi. He said that the Boeing 777 departured from Peshawar and carried above 300 passengers.
He said that pilot however managed to made a successful at the landing at the Karachi airport. All the passengers were safely moved out of the plane and there were no injuries, the spokesperson said and added that place would leave for its destination soon after the repair work is done.
Before this, a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight narrowly escaped a disaster after the plane’s tyres burst right before it was about to take off from Lahore airport on august 8, last year.
Local media report said, the flight PK-2057 carried 395 pilgrims for Hajj who were all set to take off for Jeddah from Allama Iqbal International Airport when this incident occurred.
