Pakistan’s national airline will resume direct flights to the United States from April 2020, the PIA closed flights on this route two years ago due to a financial loss, two years back the flights to the United States first landed at Manchester Airport and then arrived in New York after a security check.
According to Pakistani media, the PIA has sought permission from US officials for direct flights and provided the documents and information about the program.
It has been reported that the US Homeland Security team has visited Pakistan in this regard, in which it assessed the possibility of direct flights to Karachi and Islamabad.
Sources said that the US Transport Security officials inspected Pakistani airports and planes and declared them satisfactory.

The latest Boeing 777 aircraft will be used for these flights.
The progress comes after the recent visit of PIA Chief Executive Officer Air Marshal Arshad Mahmood to the United States.
PIA closed flights to the United States due to financial deficit. A few days ago, Air Marshal Arshad Mehmood had said that the monthly loss of airlines has been reduced from 3 billion to 1.5 billion.
PIA had been delivering its passengers to the United States for 56 years, the last flight arrived from New York to Lahore was on October 29, 2017.
It is not yet known in which US city flights will be landed next year, but, it is believed that PIA’s destination will be formerly New York.
