PM Khan orders action against electricity, gas thieves

Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan has ordered strict actions against elements that are involved in electricity and gas theft.

Imran khan stated about gas and electricity pilferage while presiding a meeting in Islamabad to look into the problems being faced by Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa (KP) government in energy sector.

Power Minister Umar Ayub, Petroleum Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan and other high profile state officials of the concerned departments also attended the meeting.

Mr Umar Ayub informed the attendees of the meeting about the steps practically taken by his ministry to reduce  energy theft, whereas the petroleum minister informed the participants about supply of gas in KP.

Mr Khan assured support of the federal government and ordered the concerned ministries for immediate steps to address energy the energy issues in KPK.

He further said that gas pilferage is not bearable, since the department is already in extreme losses and the gas pressure is not sufficient to cater many cities.

Petroleum Minister, Umar Ayub Khan addressed journalists in Peshawar and said the government was making all out efforts to control line and theft.
