Karachi: A week-long polio campaign has been launched in the metropolitan city on Monday (today).
Officials told that this campaign is a part of National Immunisation Days (NID), which targets 2.3 million children aged less than five years in the city’s 192 union councils.
Around 13,000 officials were tasked with the polio-drop activity in the city. While, city commissioner Iftikhar Shawllani initiated this campaign.
the first Polio removal drive of 2019 began in Lahore from today.
Around 19 million children who aged between 1 to 5 years will be given anti-polio drops till January 25 in Punjab.
Earlier, Babar Bin Atta, the focal person to prime minister on polio, confirmed that a 16 months old baby girl was diagnosed with the polio in the Lakki Marwat area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
