Polling for vacant Senate seat from Balochistan begins

Quetta: Polling for one vacant seat of Senate from Baluchistan has begun at the provincial assembly’s building in Quetta this morning on Monday.

It is reported that polling began at 9 am and will continue till 4 pm without any break.

A tough competition is between Balochistan Awami Party’s (BAP) candidate Manzoor Ahmed and Baluchistan National Party’s (BNP) candidate Ghulam Marri.

Altogether, five candidates are racing for this seat, which went vacant after the sudden death of  late Sardar Azam Khan Mussa Khel in the previous month.

Few days ago Provincial Election Commissioner was informed by the Baluchistan Assembly regarding the security measures taken during the polling in the recent elections on vacant seat. The Assembly urged that quick security plan b devised to ensure peaceful balloting.

Deputy Speaker Baluchistan Assembly, Sardar Babar Khan Musa Khel reassured the provincial election commissioner that security plan has been finalized.

He told that coordination is drawn among all the departments and it is told that how many security personnel had been deployed to  keep the conditions peaceful.
