Power breakdown hits central part of Karachi

Karachi: Several areas of Karachi went into complete darkness due to major power breakdown hit the metropolis on Tuesday.

KE’s spokesperson told that a technical fault in their internal system has caused power outages that have mainly affected the central part of the metropolitan city, Karachi.

It is reported that the areas of Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, Federal B Area, Liaquatabad, Sakhi Hassan, Buffer Zone, Jamsheed road and others areas are deprived of the electricity.

This is for the third time that power breakdown has hit the city of the metropolitan area. What was seen as the tripping in the national grid is basically a technical fault of the K-Electric, sole supplier to Karachi.

Around 70% of the city was experiencing the power breakdown as soon as the lights went off.

Almost all industrial area of the metropolitan city were hit by the blackout. Some other cities also suffered electricity disruption.

K-Electric spokesperson said there was a power breakdown in “few areas of Karachi due to rain”.
