Islamabad: President Dr Arif Alvi on Tuesday stressed on the importance of adopting uniform education system for national development.
While addressing 34th Annual Award ceremony of Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education in Islamabad today, Arif Alvi expressed that curriculum should be taught in Urdu and English mediums.
The president emphasized on learning the mother tongue first and he argued that it is far easier to grasp than the foreign English language.
President of Pakistan admired the hard work of female students and said that they are also playing huge role in building nation and empowering other women. He congratulated the female students on achieving amazing results.
He went on saying that society only progresses when women know their rights and actively take part part in all walks of life.
Cash awards, laptops and other prizes were also distributed among the position holders.
Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood while speaking at some other occasion said that curriculum system of all schools, colleges and universities will be synchronized soon and measures are being taken to do so.
He stressed that Govt aims to improve literacy rate of the country which stands at 58% at the moment. He also told that National curriculum is being designed to be implemented on all-levels
