President Arif Alvi has urged the youth to acquire modern and technological education in order to take the country forward on the path of progress and development.
Addressing the convocation of National University of Modern Languages (NUML) in Islamabad on Thursday, he said we are living in a competitive world and our youth will have to keep themselves abreast with the changes in order to contribute to the society.
The President said the educational institutions have also an important role to play in promoting quality education. He said both the government and the society will have to play their part to educate the 20 million out of school children.
He said ours is a great nation and it is bound to carve out its name in the comity of nations.
The President said our youth should be proud of their strengths and unique values such as compassion. He said despite limited resources, it was the Pakistani nation which opened their doors for millions of Afghan refugees and has been hosting them for the last many years. He said the western world never gets tired of lecturing us on human rights but the fact of matter is that they have built walls to stop the entry of refugees to their countries.
