Islamabad: The federal cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan will meet today (Thursday) in Islamabad.
During the Federal Cabinet meeting a 17-point Agenda will be taken up which includes the issue of removing names from the Exit Control List (ECL).
Previously, on January 10, the cabinet turned down a decision on whether names of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah should be removed from from the Exit Control List (ECL) or not.
The cabinet meeting that was held in Islamabad under the presidency of Prime Minister Imran Khan discussed the issue of fake accounts and money laundering and it was mutually decided that the removal of the names from ECL will be done after detailed verdict of the Supreme Court comes out. Justice Ijazul Ahsan of the Supreme Court wrote the 25-page verdict.
“The NAB investigation has pointed towards heinous crimes. The anti-graft body should take action on recommendations of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT),” the order reads. “The Sindh CM’s name in the ECL will create hurdle in his work as it will restrict his movement.”
“NAB should continue investigation against Murad and Bilawal though, and if it has evidence against them, it should contact the federation,” it additionally mentioned.
Strict notice was taken on the fake bank accounts case under Article 184 (3).
