Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan has intensified efforts to reduce tensions between Saudi Arabia and Iran. Prime Minister will meet Iranian President Rouhani on Sunday. After this meeting PM is likely to leave for Saudi Arabia.
According to details, Prime Minister Imran Khan has begun mediation efforts between Saudi Arabia and Iran. Diplomatic sources said that the Prime Minister will meet with Iranian President on Sunday. The visit to Saudi Arabia will follow the progress of his meeting with Hassan Rouhani to Saudi leadership. Prime Minister Imran Khan has been invited to attend Futures Investment Initiative in Saudi Arabia.
According to diplomatic sources, the key Muslim leaders are seeking to ease tensions between two Islamic countries. Pakistan is currently playing a role of mediation between Iran and Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia’s Prince Mohammed bin Salman has asked the Prime Minister to play this role. While in the past, Pakistan has made several attempts to remove the tensions between both countries.
It is mandatory to mention here that US newspaper claimed that secret talks between Iran and Saudi Arabia have already begun, even though the talks are indirect but can still be termed as excellent progress to reduce tensions between both Muslim countries.
