PSL 2020: Islamabad United Crushes Multan Sultans by 8 Wickets

In the 5th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020, Islamabad United defeated Multan Sultans by 8 wickets.

United’s captain Shadab Khan won the toss and elected to bowl first in the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore. Both the teams were unchanged.

Sultans scored 164 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. Zeeshan Ashraf played well and scored his first PSL fifty. James Vince also batted well and scored 42 runs.

But no other batsman could manage to score quick and fast runs and wickets fell after regular intervals. United bowlers bowled well specially Amad Butt who took 4 wickets for 27 runs. Faheem Ashraf also took 2 wickets.

In reply, Islamabad United openers played quick-fire innings and both scored fifty. Luke Ronchi and Colin Munro scored 74 and 50 runs respectively. David Malan remained unbeaten on 35.

Multan’s bowlers looked off-colour and could not bowl well. Shahid Afridi and Muhammad Ilyas took 1 wicket each.
