PTI demands PAC chairmanship in Sindh

Karachi: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sindh chapter demanded on Tuesday that the provincial government give chairmanship of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

Public Accounts Committee is a body that is set up to conduct the audit of government projects. Sindh Assembly Opposition leader Firdous Shamim Naqvi demanded that PTI will only be the part of any standing committee if the PTI is given the PAC chairmanship.

Naqci expressed that opposition must have equal representation and standing in the PAC committees.

He further said that it is extremely unfair to see PTI members in all such committee and almost no representation of PTI.

“We will not accept any such standing committee where PTI is not represented well”, Naqvi said.

He further stated that the charter of democracy had now been transformed into ‘charter of choori’ (theft).

Naqvi previously alleged that Pakistan People’s Party is looting the Sindh province and have done literally noting for the welfare of the people.

Naqvi expressed the PPP Minister Saeed Ghani threatened to resign if he was pressurized to order demolishing structure. “The SBCA operates under the authority of minister, so who gave the orders for all those illegal constructions,” PTI legislature member questioned.
