PTI-led government never exerted pressure on NAB: Javed Iqbal

Lahore: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal expressed that anti-graft watchdog is an autonomous body and PTI-led govt does not pressurize.

While talking in a ceremony in Lahore, NAB chairman Javed Iqbal said that organization has a moto and it works according to constitution and added that the accountability watchdog has every right to inquire even the opposition leader. He said that NAB makes sure that rules of the country are being followed.

Javed Iqbal further said that he never disrespected Prime Minister Imran Khan and added that Premier is worth respect since he has never intervened in any of our business or pressurized the watchdog body. His discriminatory approach against the big thieves and white-collar crime will eventually lower down corruption from the country.

Javed Iqbal promised to help attaining local conclusion in all mega corruption cases and told that the anti-graft watchdog body will continue to make steps to eradicate corruption.

He additionally said that NAB had not given any National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) to anyone, and was never part of any such thing.
