Karachi: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Ramzan Ghanchi was gunned down and injured near Karachi’s Ghas Mandi in early hours on Friday.
Police informed that armed men opened a fite at the PTI lawmaker after a noisy fight over a pipeline near his office in Ghas Mandi. He was shot on his leg and was initially shifted to Civil Hospital, Karachi for immediate first aid and later he was shifted to a private hospital for treatment.
SSP City Muqaddas Haider said a shooting case has been filed at the Napier police station. Two accused identified as Suleman Soomro and Shah Nawaz were taken into the custody whicle another person who is blamed for most of it is still not taken into custody, he mentioned.
SSP city informed that further probing into the firing incident is underway.
PTI MPA Khurram Sher Zaman and other party leaders visited the hospital after they came to know their party worker is gunned down..
Khurram Sher Zaman condemned the firing at Ghanchi, said he received a bullet on his leg and his condition is now out of danger.
“If a member of the provincial assembly is not safe, how a common man would be?” he questioned. “The Sindh government has failed to secure life and property of the people.”
