Sarfraz Ahmed apologized for his racist comments

Pakistan cricket team captain Sarfraz Ahmed realized  and out of his greatness he finally apologizes for passing racist comments to Andile Phehlukwayo, a South African player, in the second ODI which they lost by five wickets on Tuesday.

Sarfraz expressed his frustration during the match which earned him great criticism and the entire cricket fraternity questioned him to say sorry publicly for using inappropriate language for a fellow player.

The skipper and the Captain used his official Twitter account and said sorry for saying offensive words.

He wrote: “I wish to extend my sincere apologies to any person who may have taken offence from my expression of frustration which was unfortunately caught by the stump mic during yesterday’s game against SA. My words were not directed towards anyone in particular.”

“I certainly had no intention of upsetting anyone. I did not even mean for my words to be heard, understood or communicated to the opposing team or the cricket fans. I have in the past and will continue in future to appreciate the camaraderie of my fellow cricketers from across the globe and will always respect and honor them on and off the field,” he mentioned.

It should be noted that Sarfraz might have to face five-match ban for breaking the ICC’s players’ code of conduct.

The match referee Ranjan Madugalle had meeting with Sarfraz Ahmed in person and inquired about the issue after which he send the report to the ICC.

The future of Pakistan’s captain Sarfraz Ahmed lays in the hands of cricket governing body.

Pakistan will play its third match of the five-match ODI series on Friday. After South Africa’s convincing win in second the ODI, the series score point stands at 1-1.
