SC issues written order of recent hearing of fake accounts case

Islamabad: The Supreme Court (SC) has issued a written order of December 31st hearing pertaining to money laundering through fake bank accounts.

According to written order issued on Wednesday by the Supreme Court, the observation of Joint Investigation Team (JIT) pertaining to Farooq Naek, the legal counsel of Asif Ali Zardari, were ‘irresponsible’.

The order read that the decision of annulling the observation relating to Farooq Naek will be calculated by the Supreme Court while the further JIT report is still under review.

The top court has ordered Federal Investigation Team (FIA) to probe the social media campaign against Pakistan Peoples Party’s lawyer Latif Khosa.

Supreme Court while expressing the concerns over JIT report argued over the rationale of placing 172 names on the Exit Control List (ECL). Supreme Court said that investigation team has put forth the names of suspect without any thorough investigation and they need to be reviewed.

The next hearing of the court for this case will take place on January 7.
