Private schools in Karachi are built in residential area plots and final notice has been issued to them regarding relocation.
Sindh building authority has directed schools to relocate from residential areas to commercial plots before the winter vacation ends. The campuses will be bulldozed if schools fail to go with the policies.
According to stats, 95% of the schools are being run in residential area plots.
It is also proposed that if the school wants to convert the areas from residential to commercial plot, the authorities will have to pay Rs 8,000 per yard. That total cost reaches around Rs3 million to 4 million.
Chairperson Private Schools Association Tariq Shah clearly stated that the process is done to threat and finish private school system in metropolitan city.
The private school Association conference is expected to be held on Dec 3 where it will be decided that what should be done or if commercialization process is costing them or not.
Tariq Shah said that we will challenge this decision in court and supreme court will have to take notice on the policy passed by Sindh Building authority.
