KARACHI: On Wednesday, The Sindh High Court (SHC) once again delivered a notice to Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar and other officials over the fly invasion in the city.
During today’s hearing, the SHC ordered that Mayor, DMCs and the local bodies’ secretary should make sure their existence at the next hearing.
The court additional said both the parties should make sure they submit their replies at the next hearing.
Flies in Karachi have become “a mistreatment force on paths, flying in and out of stores and cars and homes and settle down onto every accessible surface, from vegetables to people” after the metropolis’ recent spell of a heavy rainstorm.
The heavy rainstorm leads to days-long power outages and overflowing on major roads and streets as well as in the drainage system.
