Sindh cabinet approves removal of IGP Sindh, Kaleem Imam

Sindh cabinet approves to entrust the services of Inspector General of Police Kaleem Imam to Federal Government.

Generally, a summary of the Sindh cabinet meeting is sent to the ministers three to four days in advance, which also states the meeting’s agenda.

But according to the sources, it was decided today to call an emergency meeting today, and the top officials of the provincial government were also unaware of the meeting’s agenda.

An emergency meeting of the Provincial Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah was held in which it was decided to entrust the services of Kaleem Imam to the federal government.

Sources say that the Sindh government had already informed about the removal of IG Kalim Imam from the office, and the provincial government will send three names to the federation for the new IG, all belonging to Sindh.

Sindh Information Minister Saeed Ghani says in a conversation with the media after the provincial cabinet meeting that since the arrival of the IG Sindh Kalam Imam, the street crime has increased, the law and order situation in many districts, especially Karachi, has worsened.
