Sultan Qaboos of Oman dies aged 79

Muscat: Qaboos bin Said al Said, the Arab King of Oman died after a long illness, 3 days of mourning was announced in the country.

According to details, 79-year-old Sultan Qaboos of Oman has met his creator, Sultan Qaboos had been ill for a long time.

Sultan Qaboos was born on November 18, 1940, and passed away in Muscat on January 10, 2020.

According to the news agency, Sultan Qaboos has already suggested the names of his successor. After the sultan’s death, the royal family of Oman is authorized to elect a successor within 3 days.

According to media reports, more than eighty men meet the criteria, but Asad bin Tariq former deputy prime minister for international relations and cooperation affairs stand all the above and likely to be selected as new Sultan of Oman.

Sultan Qaboos married Nawal Bint Tariq, but their marriage lasts only for 3 years. According to Oman’s law, the successor of the Sultan Qaboos must decide within three days.

It should be remembered that Sultan Qaboos became the king of Oman on July 23, 1970, after a successful coup against his father.

His aim was to end the monarchy’s in the world; he wanted to use the country’s oil revenue to develop and modernize the state. After he got the throne, he announced that the state would no longer be called ‘Muscat and Oman’, and renamed it ‘Oman’.

He also received combat training from Sandhurst Academy and participated in lieutenant combat operations in Germany.

Sultan Qaboos was a well-known leader, under his leadership, Oman achieved development, Sultan Qaboos was well known in the Middle East and worldwide regarding Oman’s neutral foreign policy.
