The United Nations has allowed Hafiz Saeed chief of Jamaat ud Dawa (JuD) to use his frozen bank accounts to fulfill his basic family needs. This permission has been given on the request of Pakistan.
Pakistan authorities have approached the UNSC to allow Hafiz to use his personal accounts for basic needs. The letter states that there are no objections being raised to Pakistan’s request and this request is approved.
According to sources, the UN has allowed Hafiz Saeed to withdraw approximately Rs. 1, 50,000 to cover basic expenses of himself and his family. Earlier Pakistan had frozen bank accounts of Hafiz Saeed complying with UNSC resolutions.
