Zilhajj moon not sighted, Eid-ul-Azha will be on Sept 2


KARACHI: The Zilhajj moon was not sighted anywhere in the country on Tuesday hence Eid-ul-Azha will be on Saturday, September 2, 2017. 

The Central Ruhat-e-Hilal Committee held a meeting presided by Chairman Mufti Munibur Rahman in Karachi to sight the Zilhajj moon.

Members from the Met Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs and Ulema belonging to different school of thoughts attended the meeting.

Mufti Munibur Rahman said that no testimonies regarding the sighting of Zilhajj moon were received from any part of the country.

Hence, 1st Zilhajj will be on Thursday August 24 while Eid-ul-Azha will be observed in the country on Saturday, September 2, 2017.
